Blasphemous Announced For 2019

Spanish-based indie developer The Game Kitchen has announced Blasphemous, their formerly secret project. It’ll be heading to modern consoles and the PC later this year.

Blasphemous is a fast-paced action platformer with a pseudo-Catholic flavor. Deep in the land of Cvstodia, a dark curse referred to as only The Miracle has twisted everything and turned the once-peaceful nation into a world of beasts.

You play as The Penitent One, an armored soldier with a spiky sword. It’s your duty to hop all over Cvstodia, slash the deadly demons to ribbons, and lift the curse.

Blasphemous will be playable on Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PC sometime within 2019, but The Game Kitchen has not given a specified release date as of yet.

In Blasphemous players take up the role of The Penitent One in the dark gothic land of Cvstodia, where a foul curse, known simply as The Miracle, has fallen. Explore this nightmarish world of twisted religion and discover its many secrets hidden deep inside. Use devastating combos and brutal executions to smite the hordes of grotesque monsters and titanic bosses, all eager to tear you limb from limb. Locate and equip relics, rosary beads and prayers that call on the powers of the heavens to aid you in your quest to break your eternal damnation.
