Beyond Good & Evil 2 is still in development, according to Michel Ancel, game designer at Ubisoft.
Earlier this week, Michel Ancel announced that he was forming a new indie studio called Wild Sheep. Despite this, Ancel will still remain at Ubisoft, and his next project will be Beyond Good & Evil 2, which has been in development for a long time, according to Ancel.
“It’s still far too early to give many details about this new title, but what we can say is that while Michel and the team at Ubisoft Montpellier are working with the core tenets of BG&E, they’re developing something that aspires to push past the boundaries of a proverbial sequel and leverages next-gen technologies to deliver a truly surprising, innovative and exceptional game,” a representative at Ubisoft said. “The entire team is excited about the direction this extremely ambitious project is taking, and we’ll have more to share later, as it progresses.”
Beyond Good & Evil was released in 2003 on the PlayStation 2, GameCube, Xbox, and PC. Michel Ancel, who is also known for creating the Rayman series, was creative director and designer of Beyond Good & Evil.
No release date was given, but Ubisoft has said that Beyond Good & Evil 2 should be out for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Wii U, and PC. We’ll update you when more information is revealed.
