before we leave

Before We Leave Is Now On Steam

Developer Balancing Monkey Games’ civilization-building title Before We Leave has been an Epic Games Store exclusive for almost a year, but the exclusivity period just expired. That means it’s Steam time…as of today, you can get the game on Epic’s rival platform.

As far as games with post-apocalyptic premises go, Before We Leave is one of the sunnier depictions out there. Civilization has been wiped out thanks to a cosmic disaster, and it’s your job to rebuild it one step at a time. Build up towns, manage their resources evenly, and you might unearth ancient technology that can help your society leap forward. Once you cities are thriving, expand to other planets and build colonies there.

The Steam version of Before We Leave includes all the content that’s been released for the Epic version, including:

  1. The Kraken Comes – An update bringing submarines, trading ships, the Kraken guardian, and underground shelters.

  2. Over & Under – An update rolling out new overlays for better experiences, new UI and UX, new languages, and more.

  3. Paving the Way – A visual upgrade, new roads, new resources, new type of Warehouse, new effects, and more.

  4. Biomes & Beasties – Three new island biomes, new visuals, inclusion of animals, discoverable secrets, and more.

  5. Upcoming update – Upon the game’s Steam launch in May, Before We Leave will be introducing new Scenarios and Weather that affects fatigue, crop growth, and movement speed.

This game has sold over 50,000 copies on Epic alone. It should perform even better on Steam. Before We Leave is available now on both platforms at a price of $19.99.
