Battlefield 4: Free Legacy Operations DLC Announced
EA and DICE have announced a free DLC pack for Battlefield 4 that will be coming later this year with the Battlefield 4 Legacy Operations DLC. You can check out some new gameplay footage in the Operations DLC playtesting video below.
The new DLC pack will include a revamped version of the classic fan-favorite map Dragon Valley. Dragon Valley from Battlefield 2 has been re-imagined as Dragon Valley 2015 with new some new gameplay features. It will now feature vehicular combat on land, air, and sea, with a large number of flags, and destructible and repairable bridges. The map has now been visually redesigned to mimic a real-life Chinese river valley, offering more terrain for occlusion for long distances. There is also a dynamic cloud layer for air-to-ground separation in terms of gameplay, but also helps shroud far distances at ground level. DICE is promising the map will allow for more intense aerial firefights above the cloud level.
The Battlefield 4 Legacy Operations DLC, featuring the Death Valley 2015 map, is set to be released alongside the game’s Holiday Update set for later this year. The DLC and the update will be two separate digital downloads for the game. However, the DLC will only be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC versions of the game. In other words, PS3 and Xbox 360 owners of Battlefield 4 will be out of luck in order to get this content. However, DICE is claiming they will continue to support Battlefield 4 with “critical updates” for those platforms.
