Batman Arkham Knight PC Issues Continue, Refunds Offered
As previously reported by The Paranoid Gamer, Warner Bros. Interactive was all set to relaunch Batman Arkham Knight for Windows PC. After the initial launch, there were a number of problems and game-breaking glitches for the PC version of the hit game. It prompted Warner Bros. Interactive to pull the sales of Batman Arkham Knight for PC entirely. The problems would be smoothed over, and then the game would be relaunched. Several months later, the relaunch finally did happen. Unfortunately, the problems for the PC version continued. Gamespot reports that players continued to report persistent problems for the game on PC. In fact, the problems are so bad that Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has released a new statement on the issue via the game’s Steam page.
Per the statement, Warner Bros. Interactive is offering a full refund on the game for PC until the end of this year. So while the PC version has been plagued by problems, WB Interactive is at least doing something to try and salvage their reputation in the eyes of gamers. Then again, it is problematic to release such a highly anticipated and huge title to the marketplace with so many problems. You can read the full statement from Warner Bros. Interactive below.
We are very sorry that many of our customers continue to be unhappy with the PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight. We worked hard to get the game to live up to the standard you deserve but understand that many of you are still experiencing issues.
Until the end of 2015, we will be offering a full refund on Batman: Arkham Knight PC, regardless of how long you have played the product. You can also return the Season Pass along with the main game (but not separately). For those of you that hold onto the game, we are going to continue to address the issues that we can fix and talk to you about the issues that we cannot fix.
Thank you,
Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment
EDIT BY VALVE: For users who were having trouble submitting a refund for the game purchased on Steam, please try your refund submission again. The issue should have now been resolved.
So at least the developers will at least continue and try to fix the persistent problems. Still, one wonders if this problem could’ve been avoided if Warner Bros. Interactive simply opted to delay the Windows PC version if it was not ready. CD Projekt Red had to delay The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt numerous times before it was ready for release.
