Attack on Titan: Online Features Revealed

Koei Tecmo America this week officially revealed some new details on the online features for the upcoming Attack on Titan video game. Specifically, the game will have the multiplayer Scout Mode and some additional gameplay mechanics. The upcoming game is based on the anime and manga property of the same name. A new trailer and several character videos were also released, which you can check out in the players below.

In Scout Mode, players will be able to recruit up to three companions online to go outside the walls and face the Titans together. They will start at camp and then they can upgrade their gear, change costumes and prepare their resources for a Titan onslaught. The leader can pick from a wide selection of missions across a variety of stages, including the Forest of Giant Trees, the Ruined Town, a Farm Village and even the Stohess District. These missions will be from the main campaign.

Players can also upgrade the Omni-Directional Mobility Gear. Its blades and scabbard can be enhanced at the camp with materials found from slaying Titans on single player and multiplayer missions. These enhancements include better anchors that can be attached to Titans from a greater distance and at faster speeds. Blades can also be made sharper and more durable.

For the Decisive Battle Signal, players can rescue other soldiers to fill up the battle meter. once this is done, everyone in the player’s vicinity is called to their side to deal a great amount of damage. The attack damage will be heightened, and the blunting of blades and depletion of gas will be stopped momentarily.

Attack on Titan hits the shelves on August 30. The game will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation Vita and Windows PC via Steam.
