At Long Last: Diablo 3 Release Date

Blizzard has announced that Diablo III will be hitting shelves on May 15, 2012.  The game is avaliable through pre-order now on Blizzard.net as well as your neighborhood game retailer.

The title has been talked about for sometime, set to hit the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 as well as PC and Mac, gamers everywhere have been wondering when it is they’ll get their Diablo fix. To make this date possible, Blizzard has admitted in the last few months to cutting a few features from the game. These features includehe PvP mode and Mystic artisan to name a few.

Taking place 20 years after the previous sequel, Diablo III takes you on a journey with one goal: to rid Tristram of its stirring evils. With the Worldstone destroyed, players will take on the role of hero from one of the five classes and use spells, fierce items as well new found powers to protect all those who where once shielded from Heaven and Hell in Sanctuary.

Blizzard also plans to release another title this year. Namely: Heart of the Swarm -the next version of StarCraft II–  and Mists of Pandaria, an expansion to its popular MMO World of Warcraft.  While Blizzard has not clarified which title it will be, one of them is sure to launch before 2012 is out.
