Original Story

GameInformer have revealed the cover game for their next issue, and it sees the official announcement of Assassin’s Creed Rogue. The game has been rumored over the past few months with Ubisoft only sharing details on Unity, the next generation Assassin’s Creed title, at E3. Assassin’s Creed Rogue will launch in November 2014 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

A number of details have finally been announced about Rogue too, and here’s the pick of the most interesting;

  • Rogue sees you play as an Assassin-turned-Templar named Shay Patrick Cormac
  • Sea travel and naval battles will return from Assassin’s Creed: Blag Flag
  • Locations include the North Atlantic, Appalachian River Valley and a re-imagining of New York
  • The game will take place during the Seven Years’ Way – set between Assassin’s Creed 3 and Assassin’s  Creed: Black Flag
  • It contains a “crucial link” to the Kenway heritage
  • The cold waters will be different from Black Flag‘s oceans
  • The Seven Years’ War lead to French financial troubles, implying a link to Assassin’s Creed Unity

More details will be revealed when the Game Informer issue is released, so stay tuned to PopGeeks for the latest news. It’s also likely we’ll see an official trailer and/or announcement at Gamescom this month.

Given that Sony and PlayStation have exclusive content for Assassin’s Creed Unity, as well as previous Assassin’s Creed titles, there could be some fence sitting from Ubisoft if they were to offer Xbox platforms some exclusive content this time around.

As is the standard these days, there will also be a Collector’s Edition of Rogue, which will include a collector’s box, an art book, three lithograph images, the game’s soundtrack, a copy of the game and some exclusive downloadable content.

Assassin’s Creed Rogue will launch on PS3 and Xbox 360 on November 11 2014; PC fans will have to get their fix from Assassin’s Creed Unity it would seem.
