Apex Legends’ Halloween Plans
How does Apex Legends plan to get dressed up this Halloween? With new skins, new cosmetics, and a ghoulish new game mode.
Fight Or Fright is the banner under which all of this falls, and it launches October 15. The main attraction is the game mode, called Shadowfall. The Kings Canyon map will be perpetually shrouded in darkness, and after 35 players enter the area, anyone who’s killed there will rise as a zombie.
You will still be able to control your character once undead, though you won’t be able to use any of your normal skills. You WILL have a stronger melee attack and, unusual for a zombie, have a faster running speed. As the match goes on, the number of “turned” players will naturally escalate.
Once only 10 humans are left among the living, the match REALLY kicks into gear and the remaining people have to book it to an evacuation ship before all the zombies get them. The first one to make it to the ship, or the last one who isn’t a zombie, is the one who wins.
Here’s what else will be going on in Fight Or Fright:
- Themed Content – Complete a variety of challenges to earn exclusive skins, badges and a music pack.
- Limited Premium Cosmetics – Unlock a set of 24 themes, limited-time cosmetics; players can obtain these new in-game cosmetics through direct purchase for Apex Coins, direct unlock with Crafting Metals or random unlock with Event Apex Packs.
- Double XP Weekend – Earn double XP for Top 5 finishes and wins. This bonus will affect both Account Level and Battle Pass progression
Apex Legends’ Fight Or Fright event vanishes into the fog November 5.
