A24 Presents: I Saw The TV Glow

Brigette Lundy-Paine is not in enough things. They were the breakout star of Netflix’s Atypical and they were most excellent in Bill and Ted Face The Music, and….that’s about all we’ve seen them in. But there’s one more on the way — Lundy-Paine will be featured in the horror movie I Saw The TV Glow, coming this spring from A24.

Five Nights At Freddy’s and Candle Cove have explored the theme of things meant for children that were actually kind of creepy, which continues here. What these films, games and Creepypastas offer up is…what if those things actually WERE supernaturally evil? I Saw The TV Glow is about two people obsessed with a preschool series from their youth, one that looks unsettling (naturally) and may be warping their adult minds now (even more naturally).

I Saw The TV Glow made its debut at Sundance, and critics came away singing its praises. The movie is supposedly super-scary, but you wouldn’t know that from the trailer released today. It comes off as more weird than anything, like the kind of incomprehensible arthouse film mainstream moviegoers avoid. You can barely divine a plot from this trailer, but that’s why we’re here — we just explained it.

This is gonna need a better marketing campaign to succeed. Lundy-Paine deserves it. I Saw The TV Glow will premiere in theaters May 3.
