5 Easiest Uma Musume to Raise for Beginners

5 Easiest Uma Musume to Raise for Beginners

Uma Musume is a phenomenal game that’s doing really well on Google Games and other platforms. You can play it on your mobile phone, or like me, on PC. It’s a lot of fun, though the long tutorial can feel intimidating, you can’t skip it, and it drags on forever. But once you survive that dreaded tutorial, everything becomes much easier.

At first, the game can feel overwhelming because it has so many features, stats, and cards to manage. However, you’ll quickly get used to it, and it’s incredibly addictive. Even though it’s a gacha game, you can enjoy it without spending a single cent, as I have since I started playing.

Right now, many beginners struggle on their first day. The pressure to train, race, and manage stats can feel intense. And let’s be honest: if your Uma Musume fails her career, you might hear streamers joking about sending her to the glue factory. But don’t worry, this guide will help you avoid that fate.

To make your start easier, here are five Uma Musume who are beginner-friendly. Their campaigns are much more forgiving than others that will stress you out so much, you’ll half-expect a glue factory deal to be in your future.

1. Sakura Bakushin O – The “Easy Mode” Racer

At first glance, Sakura Bakushin O’s campaign seems stressful because she sometimes races two or even three days in a row, making energy management tricky. However, she is arguably the easiest Uma to race.

Why She’s Beginner-Friendly:

  • All her canon races are standard to medium length. She does not run long or difficult races.

  • You can use two simple training methods to succeed:

Method 1: Speed Spam

  • Focus almost entirely on speed training.

  • Rest only when she’s tired.

  • This method works well for Sakura Bakushin O because her schedule and races are forgiving, but it would fail for most other Uma.

Method 2: Speed & Wit Spam

  • Train speed as the main focus.

  • Switch to Wit training when her energy is low instead of resting.

  • Wisdom training restores energy while improving her stats, allowing you to skip resting and maintain consistent training.

  • Although slower, this method ensures she reaches high ranks without worrying about other stats.

Personally, I often skip resting entirely and switch between speed and wit—it’s that easy.

2. Oguri Cap – The Cinderella Gray

Oguri Cap is one of the most iconic horses in real-life Japanese horse racing, and her legacy carries over into Uma Musume. She is so celebrated that she even received her own spin-off anime, Cinderella Grey, which tells her inspiring story. This combination of real-world fame and fictional charm makes her a standout character both on and off the track.

Why She’s Fun to Play:

  • She is extremely versatile. While she can function as a late surger, many beginners enjoy using her as a pace racer, which feels smoother and less stressful.

  • Her training is simple yet satisfying: focus 60% on Speed and 40% on Stamina.

  • Rest when needed, but seize every opportunity to feed her. Eating restores energy without losing training days, helping you keep her on track without unnecessary downtime.

  • Training Stamina naturally boosts Guts, while Speed training boosts Power, making her stat growth efficient and straightforward.

Oguri Cap combines a beautiful story, real-life legacy, and enjoyable gameplay, making her one of the most rewarding Uma Musume to train. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned player, guiding her to victory feels iconic in its own right.

ever know when she might snatch first place from under your nose, which keeps every race exciting.

3. Winning Ticket – The Surprising Comeback Kid

Winning Ticket can feel intimidating at first because she is a late surger, meaning she shines most in the final stretch of a race. However, with careful training, she can consistently outperform expectations. She’s challenging enough to feel rewarding but forgiving enough for beginners to have fun with.

Why She’s Beginner-Friendly:

  • Even though predictions often say she’s outclassed in a race, her late surge ability allows her to pull off unexpected victories.

  • Her campaign encourages balanced stat growth without overwhelming complexity.

  • I’ve never had a failed campaign with her, as long as you follow a consistent strategy.

Training Tips:

Method 1: Balanced Growth

  1. Focus primarily on Speed, as it directly affects how quickly she moves through the field.

  2. Train Power next, so her late surge is effective and she can overtake competitors in the final stretch.

  3. Include Stamina training regularly to ensure she can sustain her speed until the end.

  4. Rest when her energy dips low, but use eating opportunities to minimize unnecessary downtime.

Method 2: Speed & Guts Focus

  1. Train Speed most of the time, as it remains her most crucial stat.

  2. Add Guts training, which enhances her ability to accelerate when pressured by other Uma.

  3. Occasionally train Stamina or Power only if you notice her stats falling behind competitors.

  4. Pay attention to race types and distances; adjust training slightly if she needs extra stamina for longer races.

Extra Tips:

  • Late surge races can be nerve-wracking, but Winning Ticket thrives when you plan her training around speed bursts and energy management.

  • Use support cards that boost her Speed and Guts growth to maximize her potential.

  • Don’t stress over small race losses early in her career; focus on building her stats and energy recovery for key races later.

Fun fact: Her surprising victories are part of what makes her so enjoyable to train—you never know when she might snatch first place from under your nose, which keeps every race exciting.

4. Haru Urara – The Underdog Who Captured Hearts

The crowd roared, but Haru Urara never won. Not once. Not in 113 grueling races. And yet, somehow, she became a legend, not for triumph, but for courage. In the game, as in real life, she carries the spirit of perseverance, a beacon for anyone who has ever faced impossible odds.

Why She’s a Perfect Companion for Beginners

From the moment you guide her onto the track, you feel her charm. Her career is forgiving, almost gentle, allowing you to explore the mechanics of the game without fear of immediate failure. The first three months of her story are about winning hearts, not races. Fans flock to her, cheering her persistence, reminding you that victory is not always about crossing the finish line first, it is about the heart and effort invested in every stride.

Haru Urara adapts beautifully. She can surge at the last moment, pace steadily in the middle, or take the lead early, the choice is yours. Her flexibility makes her a dream to train, particularly for newcomers still learning the rhythm of Uma Musume.

The Stats That Shape a Legend

To transform this underdog into a contender, you focus on three essential stats:

  1. Speed – Every surge, every desperate dash in the final stretch depends on it.

  2. Power – The raw strength that turns effort into motion, drive into victory.

  3. Guts – The invisible flame that allows her to defy predictions, to rise when all seems lost.

Balance these, and Haru Urara becomes more than a horse in a game, she becomes a story, a testament to perseverance.

Training Strategy

Begin with Speed and Power, building a foundation strong enough to carry her through early races. As her story unfolds, weave Guts into her training. She will need it for the late surges, when the finish line approaches, and every competitor threatens to eclipse her. Support cards that enhance these stats are invaluable, like the guiding hands of mentors shaping her destiny.

Choose races wisely. Short to medium-distance dirt tracks suit her best, allowing her natural charm and determination to shine. And remember: her early career isn’t about winning, it’s about cultivating fans, nurturing a following that believes in her, even when victory seems impossible.

5. Super Creek – Sweet and Reliable

Super Creek is another forgiving Uma with a simple training plan, similar to Oguri Cap.

Training Tips:

  • Prioritize Speed and Stamina, with occasional Power training.

  • Her campaign is flexible, allowing for stress-free race management.

  • With proper support cards, she can perform strongly in most races.

Extra Beginner Tip: Build Strong Parents and Friends

To maximize your Uma Musume’s potential:

  • Add friends online who share their Uma Musume. You can use one guest Uma per campaign and twice a day, so choose carefully.

  • Use high-rank Uma (B, A, or X) from friends as parents to create stronger offspring.

  • Your first priority should be building strong parents, then structuring your campaign around their strengths.

I am really struggling with GoldShip, Gold City, and Mayano Top Gun. No matter how careful I am with their training, they always end up underperforming in key races, and I keep feeling like I’m sending them straight to the glue factory. It’s frustrating because I know there’s potential there, but managing their energy and stats seems much harder than with the beginner-friendly Uma. Yes, Sakura Bakushin O is extremely easy to race, and her campaign feels forgiving, but she’s not a good parent if you care about breeding strong offspring. She doesn’t pass on strong traits, so even if you have a smooth early game with her, you won’t be building a strong lineage. I’ve had to experiment with other Uma for parenting and breeding, because relying on Sakura for long-term growth doesn’t work. It’s a reminder that just because an Uma is easy to train doesn’t mean she’s useful in the bigger picture of the game.

Oguri Cap has quickly become my favorite. I didn’t know about her real-world horse legacy before, but now it makes her story even more meaningful. Training her with a balance of Speed and Stamina is simple, and it feels satisfying when she performs well in races. The way she can adapt to different strategies makes her perfect for someone still learning the game.

Uma Musume is really a great game, and I have been enjoying it a lot. The races, the training, and the way each Uma has a unique personality make it really fun to play. I especially like seeing how different strategies affect their performance and how you can experiment with training approaches. That said, the tutorial is painfully long. It feels like it drags on forever, and the fact that you can’t skip it makes it even worse. I understand it’s meant to teach you the basics, but by the time it’s over, I was already eager to start playing for real. Once you get past it, the game becomes much more enjoyable, but getting through that unskippable introduction is a real test of patience for beginners.

One of the easiest Uma Musume in the game has to be Symboli Rudolf. Honestly, all you really need to do is spam Guts. Yes, I’m not kidding—that’s literally all I did. I focused on Guts almost exclusively throughout her career, and it worked perfectly. She finished her races strong, and I never had to worry much about balancing other stats. It’s almost absurd how simple her campaign is compared to others. Using this method, I was able to finish her entire career with ease, and it felt satisfying without overcomplicating training. For beginners who want a stress-free start, Symboli Rudolf is definitely worth trying.

I’ve been playing Uma Musume for a few months, and I can definitely agree that Sakura Bakushin O is the easiest to start with. Her schedule and races are very forgiving, so you don’t have to stress too much about every stat. I like using the speed and wit method because it keeps her training consistent without constantly stopping. For beginners, she really helps you understand the core mechanics without feeling overwhelmed.

Haru Urara is amazing for beginners who want a gentle introduction. You are not pressured to win immediately, which helps you learn the system at your own pace. Her charm and perseverance make her enjoyable to train, and you still get a sense of accomplishment as she develops.

would also suggest Tokai Teio. She’s very beginner-friendly because her stats grow reliably, and her races are not too punishing. With consistent speed and stamina training, she performs well in almost every campaign.

My first successful career in Uma Musume was with Oguri Cap, and I still remember how satisfying it felt to guide her through her races. After her career, she became a fantastic parent for Braiding, passing on strong stats and making the next generation much easier to train. Even now, whenever I enter team races, Oguri Cap is always my VIP. Her versatility and reliability make her a perfect choice, and I love how she continues to contribute to my teams long after her own career ended. She’s the Uma that really taught me how to plan training and manage races effectively.
