Xbox One Owners Will Need Additional Adapter For Older Instruments For Rock Band 4
Ever since Rock Band 4 was first announced earlier in the year, Harmonix have stated that they will be hoping to support existing users as much as possible. They have already confirmed that those playing on the same family of systems would be able to import their previous music libraries from older games, such as Rock Band 2 and LEGO Rock Band, as well as any other DLC that a player has bought.
While they have constantly been talking about how they are doing as much as possible to support older instruments that customers already own, it now seems like that support will come at a cost for some players. PlayStation 4 owners will be able to use the vast majority of previous instruments without any extra accessories, however the Xbox One version will require a special adapter for wireless controllers to work. This will be bundled with the game and add an extra $20 to the overall price. Meanwhile, wired instruments on the Xbox One are currently not supported, though Harmonix are still working on getting them to work as far as possible.
