SUMMARY: A young boy grows up in poverty, but strives for a better life. His first love flees from her own painful memories, leaving him behind with unresolved feelings. Years later, fate brings them together again. Will It Snow for Christmas? Will they be able to recapture their pure and beautiful love despite their misunderstandings and hardships?
“Will It Snow for Christmas?” follows the turbulent, years-spanning love between Cha Kang-Jin and Han Ji-Won, two teenagers whose bond forms in a small rural town and is later shattered by tragedy.
Cha Kang-Jin grows up in poverty with his hardworking mother, who runs a modest coffee bar and endures constant humiliation from customers. Forced to protect her from an early age, Cha Kang-Jin becomes resilient, sharp-witted, and fiercely principled, determined to rise above his circumstances. When the mother relocates the family to her hometown, Cha Kang-Jin meets Han Ji-Won, the warm but emotionally fragile daughter of a respected oriental medicine practitioner. Despite class differences and town gossip, the two develop a deep, innocent love that offers each of them comfort and hope.
Their happiness ends abruptly when Cha Kang-Jin’s treasured pendant, his only link to his absent father, is lost during a scuffle. Hoping to help, Han Ji-Won asks her older brother to retrieve it from the river. Sadly, he drowns, and the tragedy devastates both families. Consumed by guilt and grief, Han Ji-Won lashes out at Cha Kang-Jin, denies ever loving him, and runs away, leaving him abandoned and heartbroken.
Eight years later, Cha Kang-Jin has become a successful architect, though the emotional wounds of his youth remain. Fate reunites the former lovers at her engagement celebration. Cha Kang-Jin is engaged to Min Tae-Jun. He’s late for the ceremony because he was with his prior lover, Lee Woo-Jeong. Han Ji-Won is terrified of reopening the wounds of the past. Cha Kang-Jin tries to keep her anger and longing buried, but their meeting sets off a painful struggle to confront what tore them apart years ago.
Their early wounds distorted their romantic feelings for each love, although their tie is not completely severed. Is their love strong enough to survive grief, resentment, and years of silence? Like the rare hope of snow on Christmas, the possibility of Cha Kang-Jin and Han Ji-Won finding love and peace feels fragile, uncertain, and yet achingly beautiful.

My personal rating is the same as Dramabeans.
The Christmas theme in Korean dramas differs from traditional Western customs. The holiday often serves as a backdrop for emotional turning points. The beauty of the holiday highlights romance, reconciliation, and the longing for warmth in cold seasons. K-dramas don’t focus on religious rituals or festive celebrations. The warmth of the Christmas holiday season might contrast with the loneliness or struggles of characters who might feel excluded from joy, or enhance the happiness of characters who are joyful.
