What We Do In The Shadows

“What We Do In The Shadows” Variant Of Clue Released

Reskinned versions of popular board games have been a thing for at least 20 years (I’m not going to precisely estimate how long). You truly know you’ve made it big when there’s a version of Clue or Monopoly on the shelf based on your show or movie. Looks like FX’s comedy What We Do In The Shadows, which is going into its final season, is the latest to receive the honor.

Full disclosure: I’ve never watched the show. I’ve heard it’s good, but there are too many shows and I can’t see everything. So I’m going to have to rely on the official description here: “Laszlo’s 100% Witch Skin Hat is missing, and somebody who frequents the Staten Island Vampire Residence is responsible. It’s vital that the hat be recovered, lest the cursed thing act up more than it has. Join Laszlo, Nandor, Colin and the rest as they search the Fancy Room and Attic to see if the hat is shoved behind a Nadja Doll or shoved into a Hollowed out Book. After all, WHO took it, WHERE they hid it, and WHAT item they used to conceal it will have to be uncovered if there’s to be any kind of peace.” Did that all make sense? I hope so.

Like most reskinned versions of Clue, it plays like the original, which should be good for those who aren’t collectors that want to keep it in the shrinkwrap. The box contains the Game Board, 6 Suspect Movers, 6 Personality Cards, 21 Rumor Cards, 25 Intrigue Cards, Clue Sheets, an envelope to conceal the guilty person, 6 Hiding Spots, dice and rules.

I've never watched What We Do In The Shadows, but I do enjoy a good game of Clue. This sounds like a fun way to try something new. I'm curious to see how the vampire theme is incorporated into the classic gameplay.

I have to have this one. The What We Do In The Shadows theme is perfect for my collection. I love the idea of playing as the vampires and solving the mystery. This is a must-have!

I'm a big fan of the classic Clue game, so I'm curious to see how this version is different. I'm not sure how well the vampire theme will translate into the gameplay, but I'm open to trying something new.
