What Lurks Beneath Released On Digital

Quiver Distribution has released the suspense thriller What Lurks Beneath on digital platforms as of today.

It’s just not a good day for the crew of the submarine USS Titan. World War III tends to sour one’s mood. They have their orders to stand by and shoot the nukes should things escalate further. You might think the interior of that sub is the only safe place, BUT….they discovered something curious — something stuck in one of the torpedo tubes that shouldn’t have been there. It’s…..a naked lady!

And ever since that lady showed up, things have gotten….scary in the cramped quarters of the Titan. Crew members start disappearing. Others are starting to hear voices telling them to murder their friends. Could the woman be one of those sea creatures you hear about in Greek myths — a Siren? The trailer tries not to give that away, but it wasn’t hard to guess.

What Lurks Beneath stars Dela Reilley, Simon Phillips and Ryan Giesen. It was written by Marcus Raul and directed by Jamie Bailey, and you can find it now on most digital platforms.

The crew of USS Titan find themselves on the brink of World War 3 with Russia when a stowaway appears in one of their torpedo tubes. Captain Banks fears she may be Russian, but she’s something far more dangerous.

What Lurks Beneath seems to hit all the right notes for suspense. Submarine settings are inherently nerve-wracking — the isolation, the claustrophobia, the paranoia — it’s the perfect backdrop for a psychological horror like this. The concept of a siren-like creature causing chaos among the crew is chilling but also clever. If the movie leans into that mythological aspect, it could stand out from other generic thrillers. I’m hoping the filmmakers balance the tension well and give us memorable, atmospheric visuals.

Greek mythology in a modern setting? Yes, please! The siren mythology is often misinterpreted in media, so I’m curious how What Lurks Beneath handles it. Sirens were more about deception and luring sailors to their deaths, not outright monsters. If this movie leans into the psychological manipulation rather than just turning the creature into a mindless killer, it could add depth to the story. I’m all for a movie that explores ancient myths in a contemporary, high-stakes setting like a submarine.

This sounds like something I’d watch on a random weekend. Submarines, nukes, and a mysterious woman? Yeah, that has my attention. It doesn’t need to be groundbreaking — just fun and scary. Sometimes you just want a movie that keeps you guessing and creeps you out. I hope they nail the tension and don’t spoil everything in the first 20 minutes.

Submarine horror movies don’t come along often, so I’m excited to see What Lurks Beneath. The idea of a siren causing madness and paranoia among a military crew is right up my alley. The trailer’s ominous tone gave me hope that the movie won’t rely too much on cheap scares. I’m really hoping for a slow burn with a payoff that makes you question reality. Horror works best when it leaves you unsettled long after the credits roll.

A submarine thriller is a smart idea because of how naturally confined and isolated the setting is. Imagine being stuck underwater with something you don’t understand — that’s terrifying on its own. But I also wonder about the technical details of the movie. Submarine operations are complex, so I hope the filmmakers at least tried to get the realism right. A movie like this can lose its immersion if the details feel sloppy. If they pull it off, though, this could be a nerve-wracking watch.

I don’t need a perfect plot — I just need suspense, scares, and chaos, and What Lurks Beneath sounds like it delivers. A creature messing with the minds of submarine crew members during a high-stakes war? That’s an adrenaline rush waiting to happen. As long as the movie keeps things moving and doesn’t get bogged down by unnecessary explanations, I’m all in.

The trailer caught my attention because underwater visuals can be stunning if done right. I’m hoping they use the claustrophobic environment of the sub to its fullest — dim lighting, eerie shadows, and the crushing pressure of the ocean. A siren-like creature in a submarine could be visually haunting if they lean into her presence being felt more than seen.
