Warrior Nun Season 2 Given November 10 Release Date
Boooooy, has it been a long wait for Netflix to get around to the second season of Warrior Nun. It may be so long that you don’t remember where we left off. But that’s okay — the show’s protagonist doesn’t really start Warrior Nunning until the end of Season 1, so you can jump right in.
Said protagonist is Ava, a laid-back, nihilistic goth who doesn’t care about much, and doesn’t see a point to her life until the day she wakes up in an ancient temple on a slab. She briefly died, but was resurrected by a secret society of nuns — with superpowers! Now she’s joined them, and the halo mark on her back gives her the power to pass through solid objects, run on water and generally kick butt. She wasn’t intended to be their Chosen One, though, and some folks are miffed about that.
The latest Miffed One is introduced in the new trailer that was released today. The church’s supernatural foe Adriel has returned from imprisonment, and as the other sisters explain, he’ll be very hard to stop, as no one has confronted him and lived to tell about it. There’s only ONE weapon in the world that can defeat him — a Crown of Thorns-looking thing, which fortunately doesn’t seem to be hard to find. By the way, expect a lot more instances of religious iconography mixed up in weird ways — it’s this show’s MO.
Adriel also wants the halo embedded in Ava’s back, as everyone does. “Come and get it,” Ava growls. Will he succeed or fail? Or more likely, will be briefly succeed in the climax only for Ava to pull some move out of nowhere and win anyway? Most likely that last one. Warrior Nun Season 2 premieres November 10 on Netflix.
And if you want more, you can help its chances of a Season 3 by….leaving it on all day while you do something else. As Neil Gaiman explained when The Sandman premiered, Netflix only cares about binging data these days. So….just leave it on to cycle through once and then watch it for real later. I know that is nuts…possibly even nuttier than a secret society of karate-kicking nuns but what’re ya gonna do.
