Warcraft: Latest TV Spot Debuts Online
Universal Pictures and Legendary Entertainment have just dropped the latest TV spot for Warcraft online, featuring some new footage for the upcoming fantasy action-adventure extravaganza. You can check out the new video in the player below.
To date, most big budget movies based on popular video game franchises don’t have a very good track record in Hollywood. Many are hoping that Warcraft could break that chain. Duncan Jones is certainly a talented director who has some solid films under his belt with the features Moon and Source Code. A lot of video game franchises are licensed for features. Sony also has an Assassin’s Creed movie in the works. This could either be a big sign of change of a higher quality level of video game based films, or another disappointment. The marketing campaign definitely looks like it’s trying to evoke similar vibes as The Lord of the Rings franchise. The scale and scope definitely look big. There looks like there is a lot of action too.
The upcoming 3D epic adventure film stars Travis Fimmel, Ben Foster, Paula Patton, Ben Schnetzer, Dominic Cooper, Ruth Negga, Toby Kebbell, Robert Kazinsky, Clancy Brown, Anna Galvin, Daniel Wu. The film hits theaters in RealD 3D, IMAX and IMAX 3D on June 10. Here’s some more info on the picture:
