Tom Cruise is one of the few Hollywood stars that take the virus seriously. He always wears a face mask wherever he goes, and he only removes it when the camera starts shooting because a Face mask is not a good visual for the movie. I don’t think we have the technology to remove face masks from scenes yet. Actors are the most vulnerable during filming because once the camera is on, they have to take off their face masks. Mission Impossible 7 had been through multiple delays because of unexpected circumstances. There was a time when Tom Cruise got injured from doing his stunts.(Kudos to him for doing his stunt work at the age of 58.)
In February, the filming got postponed because the outbreak got worst in Europe. It is for the safety of every cast and crew member. Most scripted TV shows and films also follow strict protocols to be safe. Actors have to remove their masks once the camera is on. That makes them very vulnerable to infection. He scolded some crew members who are not following the Covid 19 safety rules. His anger is very understandable because many people lost their jobs during this pandemic, and those crews are not taking it seriously. Here is the audio leak of him ranting against the stubborn crews. It is like strict dad scolding his children.
Here is video footage of his rant and banter with the stubborn crew members.

Actors experience backlash whenever banter like this happened, but it goes with his favor. Most People sided with him because his rage is understandable. He wanted to finish this film. After massive testing, He made his crew stay on a cruise ship he rent instead of a hotel. Hotels have higher risks because people that got infected can check-in. He paid it with his own money.
