TMNT Mutant Mayhem Hits Blu-Ray December 12

Though I wanted to see Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem in the theater, I never had the time. And I’m not pleased by that fact, since this kind of cool animation style was made to be seen on a big screen. The movie is available digitally now, but I don’t have many other reasons to seek out a Paramount+ subscription.

Fortunately, the physical edition will be released in two months! The Blu-Ray / 4K release of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem was announced today with the following special features:

• TEENage Mutant Ninja Turtles: For the first time the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are voiced by actual teenagers! Hear how each Turtle was cast and how having all four boys record together helped create the authentic camaraderie seen on screen.
• The Mutant Uprising: Get to know the Turtles’ mutant antagonists, led by the wild and original character Superfly, voiced by Ice Cube.
• New York, New York: The Visual World of MUTANT MAYHEM: Take a deep dive into the breakthrough visual style of the film’s characters and environments and how they evolved over time.
• Learn to Draw Leo: Try your hand at drawing the Turtle leader with this fun tutorial!

That’s it? This movie really could have used a commentary.

Mutant Mayhem introduces a new breed of Ninja Turtles — the kind that are more teenagers than mutants. The Turtles wish they weren’t freaks of society. They figure the way to acceptance is to take down Superfly, the criminal menace of New York whose face no one has ever seen. Turns out the reason for that is…Superfly is literally a fly, and his gang consists of other mutated animals. They believe humans must be conquered, not befriended. It’s the TMNT’s first major fight….can they take Superfly down?

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem stars the voices of Nicolas Cantu, Brady Noon, Micah Abbye and Shamon Brown Jr. as Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo respectively, along with Jackie Chan as Splinter, Ayo Edebiri as April O’Neil, Hannibal Buress as Genghis Frog, Seth Rogen as Bebop (he had to be somebody), Rose Byrne as Leatherhead, John Cena as Rocksteady, Ice Cube as Superfly, Natasia Demetriou as Wingnut, Giancarlo Esposito as Baxter Stockman, Post Malone as Ray Fillet, Paul Rudd as Mondo Gecko and Maya Rudolph as Cynthia Utrom.
