The Race For The Palutena Amiibo Begins July 24th On Amazon
On your marks, get set, GO! Because Nintendo never learns, the latest exclusive amiibo of a character everybody wants is about to be released in limited quantities, from a single retailer! Again!
The Palutena amiibo has been revealed as an Amazon exclusive. This time, though, the company is aware of the chaos and the cheating and is going to make things harder for scalpers to ruin it for everyone. No preorders for Palutena will be allowed. The figures will simply go on sale, first come, first serve. They’re also stocking a lot, lot more of them.
“We have a lot more stock than we’ve had of any other amiibo yet,” said an Amazon representative. “I know we’ll end up selling out, but I think it’ll be closer to the Splatoon 3-pack or Charizard or something rather than Lucina/Robin in terms of how long they’re available (~15 mins after available). If you show up on time, you should be able to get one.”
What amiibo hoarders really want to know is not just what day Palutena will be purchasable, but what HOUR. If it’s going to be 3 AM again, a little notice ahead of time would be nice. Good news on that end: Amazon will announce the exact time the Palutena amiibo will go on sale, and they’ll announce it two days in advance, on July 22. Whether all this makes a positive difference remains to be proven.
Speaking of Charizard, he’s hovering at around 20 to 25 dollars on eBay currently, and the Splatoon 3-pack is going for an average of $70.
