The Inhumans: Iwan Rheon Cast as Maximus
Marvel Studios has revealed some major casting news today for the upcoming TV series, The Inhumans. Actor Iwan Rheon has been cast in the role of the Maximus for the show. Viewers will remember Rheon as Ramsay Bolton, one of the most hated villains in the history of the Game of Thrones TV show. Maximus will be a lead role in the show, which makes sense, since he is the brother of Black Bolt and a frequent villain for the Royal Family in comics and other media.
The upcoming show will be the epic adventure of Black Bolt and the Royal Family. Maximus is described as a “clever and charming Inhuman that is fiercely devoted to the people of Attilan, especially his brother, the King – although he harbors an intense desire to wear the crown himself.” Frequently, Maximus in the past has tried to usurp the throne of Attilan from Black Bolt.
Speaking on the news, Marvel Head of TV and executive producer Jeph Loeb stated, “Iwan’s ability to be charming, roguish, and still completely unexpectedly dangerous were all the different sides we needed to bring the character to life. We’re thrilled to have him on board.”
Marvel’s The Inhuman is being executive produced by Scott Buck (Iron Fist), who is also serving as showrunner. The upcoming show will premiere its first two episodes exclusively in IMAX theaters for a two-week run in September prior to the show’s network debut on ABC.
