The Greatest Scooby Show Of All Time Comes To Blu-Ray August 25

-

Generally, when you turn on Scooby-Doo, you have certain expectations. You expect tall sandwiches to be consumed, certain catch phrases to be repeated, and the old lady who appeared at the beginning of the episode to be the one behind the werewolf mask. But about all else, you DON’T expect to end an episode thinking “whoa, that was great! I can’t wait to see what happens next.” Scooby-Doo: Mystery Incorporated is that show.

Launching in 2010 on Cartoon Network and lasting two seasons of 26 episodes each, Mystery Incorporated was unlike any Scooby toon that preceded it in that it took its lore seriously. Scooby, Shaggy, Fred, Daphne, and Velma arrive in Crystal Cove, a town full of buried secrets and spirits, not to mention connections to some of the cast. But where you expect the cliches and silliness to begin, you find something else. Threats feel real. Characters feel like they’re in actual danger. Plot twists are actually surprising. It all works on a level you would never expect it to, and it’s arrival on Blu-Ray later this summer is long overdue.

And I’m pleased to report that this is more than just an episode dump! You get all the episodes on six discs, but you also get commentary on key episodes from Eddsworld producers Andy Clift and Matt Hargreaves, plus the original promos for the two seasons.

Be sure to pick up Scooby-Doo: Mystery Incorporated: The Complete Series when it arrives on Blu-Ray August 25. Like a Hex Girl, it will cast its spell on you.
