After a short teaser clip yesterday, Marvel Studios and Netflix dropped the first full trailer for The Defenders today. You can check out the full video for the trailer in the player below.
Viewers finally get to see footage of the four main characters of the previous Marvel Netflix shows interacting together, including Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock aka Daredevil, Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, Mike Colter as Luke Cage, and Finn Jones as Danny Rand aka Iron Fist. The trailer also features the first footage of as the show’s villain. Currently, she’s only known as “Alexandra.” Also, Elektra appears to be back as a villain of sorts this time around, and the footage shows her tangling with her ex-boyfriend Daredevil, and The Defenders.
Getting to see Iron Fist and Luke Cage, the best of friends in the comics, having a bit of a fight here was definitely cool. The show is looking very promising so far. However, it doesn’t appear that Marvel plans on fixing the costume problem for Iron Fist anytime soon. And wearing yellow shoes does not count.
The Defenders premieres on Netflix globally on August 18. All eight episodes of the miniseries will be available on the streaming service at launch.
