The Curse” is a TV series that is likely inspired by the controversies surrounding “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.” This reality show was known for providing life-changing home makeovers to middle-class families, fulfilling their dreams of having a new home. While receiving a free home makeover may seem like a dream come true, it’s important to note that in America, if your house becomes bigger, the mortgage you have to pay also increases. Furthermore, it may not seem worth it to keep paying the mortgage for a large house once all the children have grown up, graduated, and moved out. Many families featured on “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” filed for bankruptcy because they couldn’t afford the taxes and mortgage payments for these extravagant homes.In “The Curse,” we follow a married couple who hosts an HGTV show called “Flipanthropy,” which draws inspiration from the controversial reality TV show. Asher Siegel, portrayed by Nathan Fielder, and his wife Whitney Siegel, played by Emma Stone, are popular for providing home makeovers to the impoverished town of Espanola.

“The Curse” is a comedy that seamlessly blends different genres, such as horror, humor, and home makeovers. Asher and his wife, Whitney, are well-known for hosting a popular HGTV house flipping show in which they provide home makeovers to families in need. However, the idyllic image of home makeovers has evolved over the years. Rising mortgage prices and children moving out after graduation have led many families who received these extravagant makeovers to declare bankruptcy.Asher and Whitney may present themselves as a friendly all-American couple who love helping people on camera, but behind the scenes, they reveal a snobbish and conceited side. One day, Asher, seeking to enhance his on-camera image, gave a little girl a $20 bill while the cameras were rolling. However, when the cameras were turned off, he took the $20 bill back from the girl. The little girl, feeling wronged, uttered a curse upon Asher. From that moment, Asher and Whitney experienced a series of unimaginable misfortunes.

 

The Curse will premiere on the 10th of November in Paramount + Showtime.

Don't get me wrong, a remaster of Lollipop Chainsaw is cool and all, but wouldn't a full-fledged sequel be even better? Imagine Juliet a few years older, maybe even training new zombie slayers with her signature pep and chainsaw skills. The over-the-top humor and gory action could be taken to a whole new level with today's technology. Plus, a sequel could introduce some fresh mechanics and a brand new undead threat for Juliet to conquer. I wouldn't mind seeing a bit more in the story department either. RePop Mode sounds like a fun addition, but give me a reason to truly dive back into this world with a brand new adventure for Juliet Starling!

Whoa, Lollipop Chainsaw RePop is happening? That's awesome news! But you know what would be even more awesome? Seeing Juliet Starling take her chainsaw-wielding cheerleading fury to the Mortal Kombat 1! Her flamboyant personality and brutal finishing moves would be a perfect fit for the game's roster. Imagine her taunting opponents with sassy one-liners before unleashing a combo that ends with a gloriously bloody Fatality! Here's hoping Warner Bros. and NetherRealm Studios consider Juliet for future Mortal Kombat DLC. I mean she came from the same studio, easy make over and she is a legal aged adult.

As long as Tara Strong reprises her role as Juliet, I'm sold! Her energetic and witty voice delivery was a huge part of what made Juliet such a memorable character. She perfectly captured Juliet's bubbly personality and fierce determination. Seriously, who else could deliver lines like "Come get some, ya brain-munchin' freaks!" with such infectious enthusiasm? Plus, Tara Strong's a veteran voice actress with tons of experience in video games. It just wouldn't be the same Lollipop Chainsaw without her iconic performance. Speaking of which, is James Gunn still involved in any way with RePop? His creative vision was a big part of the original game's charm, so it'd be interesting to see if he had any input on the remake.

Man, they replaced the music with generic stuff? Now I gotta picture Juliet slaying zombies with royalty-free elevator music in the background. Maybe I can mod in the Mickey for maximum chaos.

he news about the missing licensed music stings a bit. Tracks like 'Lollipop' by The Chordettes and 'Mickey' by Toni Basil were so iconic and perfectly captured the game's quirky atmosphere. Sure, the original songs will likely be missed, but this also opens up an interesting opportunity for the PC modding community. If Dragami allows for some level of modding support, I can see some talented folks creating mods that reintroduce the original soundtrack or even add new licensed music that fits the game's vibe. It could breathe even more life into the remake and create a truly special experience for PC players

Remember how Juliet kept talking about slaying werewolves, vampires, and even Frankenberries? Can you imagine the pure, unadulterated chaos of Juliet taking on a whole menagerie of supernatural monsters that are not zombies.Think about it: Juliet dodging a vampire's batarang with her chainsaw, then whipping out a pom-pom launcher to blast a werewolf mid-transformation. Or facing down a giant Frankenberry boss, dodging its stomping feet and raining down candy-coated carnage with her trusty chainsaw. The possibilities are endless! Plus, imagine the music! Dragami could go wild with a whole new soundtrack that perfectly captures the wackiness of each new monster type.
