The Batman Part II Has Been Delayed An Entire Year
It’s a time of great transition for the DC Cinematic Universe, as it shifts into becoming another universe entirely. James Gunn has been given control and will be introducing the new DCU with the self-titled Superman, due out in 2025 and filming as we speak. However, this doesn’t mean the old DCU will be abandoned entirely. Some parts of it made too much money to abandon. Matt Reeves’ The Batman was a big hit for WB and a sequel was greenlit before any talk of a reboot started. Plans have not changed, but this and other projects (like Joker 2) have been folded into their own, non-canon corner of the DCU called “Elseworlds” (which is the comic universe’s own name for alternate universes). What HAS changed is that we’re going to have to wait a lot longer for the sequel to appear. It hasn’t been explained why, but The Batman Part II was just delayed an entire year. Originally meant for October 3, 2025, it’s now coming out on October
