The Persona Games Are Coming To XBox
The good news is, the most beloved titles in the Persona series are about to finally become playable outside of the walls of Sony hardware. The bad news is, we don’t mean on Switch.

Joker and the Phantom Thieves are back! The stars of one of the best RPGs ever created, Persona 5, have returned in Persona 5 Strikers, and this time they’re ready for battle! Join Joker and crew on a road trip across Japan, fighting a new threat of corruption that threatens to overtake everything.
Why should you be interested in the upcoming tactical strategy game 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim? Because of the name on the box: Vanillaware. And if that brand doesn’t ring any bells, the words “Odin Sphere” or “Dragon’s Crown” should.
The PC Gaming Show was streamed live early this morning, and the biggest announcement of the day was the surprise release of Persona 4 Golden on PC. Yes, it’s an older game, but it’s an excellent one and it’s become hard to find.
Today, ATLUS released an all-new trailer for Persona 5 Royal! The trailer features Morgana and Kasumi highlighting elements of the game. Properly titled, Morgana’s Phantom Theif Crash Course, this trailer reintroduces people to the world of Persona 5.
Persona 5, the smash hit RPG from 2016, is coming back with extra content! Since Atlus isn’t ready to show off Persona 6, they’re reprinting the fifth game with a new area to explore, an additional semester of school, and a new Phantom Thief, Kasumi Yoshizawa (also known as Violet). Is that enough to warrant a double-dip purchase? Only you can decide, but I too wish they were putting this on Switch.
We’ve known for quite some time that Atlus was working on an “enhanced” version of Persona 5; we just didn’t know what would be in it or what systems it’d appear on. Today the first lengthy trailer for Persona 5: The Royal, or Persona 5r, was revealed, along with a Japanese release date (Halloween 2019) and a Western release window (sometime in 2020).
Rumors that something called “Persona 5 R” was on the way have been confirmed. Atlus uploaded a short teaser to YouTube this morning….30 seconds in length, and revealing its existence.
In 2013 Atlus and Vanillaware introduced to the world Dragon’s Crown, a co-op action RPG with gorgeous graphics in the style of Odin Sphere (it was painted by the same people). Odin Sphere was remastered for the PS4, so fans asked, why not Dragon’s Crown? Atlus heard you and is introducing Dragon’s Crown Pro to the Playstation 4 this May.

With just a little over a week until the big Switch event, these are no doubt going to intensify. However, some confirmations are coming through as well. Even if they’re confirmations about games that won’t be coming to the system
Back when touchscreens were a new novelty and the Wii was the hottest technology around, Atlus put out a series of surgery simulators called Trauma Team. Among all the “gimmick” games with special controls released during this period, Trauma Team was one of the better and more well-received. But if Atlus’s proposed TV series based on the games had ever gotten off the ground, people might have turned on the brand pretty quickly.
The jig is up for the Phantom Thieves on February 14, 2017, when the next numbered entry in the award-winning Persona series makes its debut in the Americas. ATLUS’ Persona Japanese role-playing game series will be released exclusively on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 consoles, and is available to pre-order now. Besides the PS3 game there will be a special PS4 SteelBook Launch Edition as well as a limited “Take Your Heart” Premium Edition. The premium edition is set to have a number of features, including:
