From the moment Digital Illusions Creative Entertainment revealed Battlefield 3’s ‘Thunder Run’ campaign mission, showcased in June 2011, the game’s community has obsessed over the Tyrannosaurus Rex figurine the protagonist is clutching as the gameplay trailer begins. In a matter of hours, rumours regarding a possible ‘Dino Mode’ had spread like Utterly Butterly on a toasted crumpet.
DICE has since fuelled speculation by featuring dinosaur-related Easter Eggs in pre-order and post-launch DLC packs. First came dinosaur dog tags. Next, numerous hints were spotted on Back to Karkand map Wake Island, along with six hidden T-Rex miniatures. Today, we bring news that a T-Rex skull has been found on Armoured Kill map Alborz Mountain.

What could this mean? Is DICE planning to release a Jurassic Park-esque expansion pack for its incredibly popular FPS? Could December’s Aftermath add-on, or perhaps next year’s End Game, be the ‘Dino Mode’ franchise fans have be screaming out for? Or is the Swedish development studio trolling us again?
