Super Mega Baseball heading to Xbox One and PC
Metalhead Software has revealed that their baseball game will be heading to Xbox One and PC in the form of Super Mega Baseball: Extra Innings. The port is being worked on directly by the original development team and will release at some point during the summer. They haven’t released any word on an exact release date or what the price will be, although it is currently priced at $19.99 on the PlayStation Store so players should expect s similar price on Steam and Xbox Live.
The new version of the game will come with several enhancements over the original release. Further customization options will be added to give players more choice over the look of their players, while two additional stadiums are set to make an appearance. Metalhead Software also stated that Extra Innings will also see a number of improvements to gameplay as well as a few new features. These changes will also make their way to PlayStation users in the form of free DLC and updates.
Super Mega Baseball was released on December 16, 2014 for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PS Vita as a cross-buy title. It received a large number of plaudits and critics and has been called the best baseball game to release in recent times. It featured a season mode in addition to exhibition matches, four ballparks and a total of 216 characters that can be customized. Uniquely, it also offers the ability for local multiplayer that allows up to four players to play either competitively against each other or co-operatively against another team.
