Summer Games Done Quick 2025 Schedule Released

Is it that time again? Not exactly. Summer Games Done Quick is still roughly two months from now, but the organization has already finalized what you’ll be seeing there. The schedule was published over the weekend, and just like the previous summer GDQs, it’s pretty packed.

The fun begins July 6 with the early morning run of Sonic The Hedgehog 2, followed by Okami HD, Banjo-Kazooie, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Bear Saber, Sekiro, Quake, Mega Man X4 and others. Day 2 will feature MGS3, Halo 4, Turtles in Time (arcade version), Timespinner, Link’s Awakening DX, Crash Twinsanity and something unofficial called Mega Man Maker (for once, Mega Man players will be subject to kaizo insanity, though there will be Mario kaizos as well).

Silly Block will return for another year with Shaq Fu, Pocketbike Racer, Skate Horse, the game based on the 90s Hercules show (it’s by Titus so you know it’s bad), Rose and Camellia (a slap fight game), and something called An Airport for Aliens Currently Run by Dogs, as well as a run of Mario Paint’s Gnat Fight minigame. The whole marathon will conclude July 13 with the triple whammy of Super Mario 64, the GDQ debut of Deltarune, and a mystery game from a mystery runner!

One game I’ve been curious as to how GDQ will play is Blue Prince. The very way this game is built would seem to defy all attempts at a direct speedrun since every element of it is random. GDQ runs Blue Prince on Day 2, and the category will be “B Quest Bingo” — meaning two players will run the game at once, and the winner will be the one who finds a specified amount of items first. GDQ has found a way!

As always, the summer variant of GDQ will benefit Doctors Without Borders, a nonprofit dedicated to offering medical humanitarian assistance to people based solely on need, irrespective of race, religion, gender, or political affiliation. All donations will go directly to DWB — the sponsors GDQ has are paying for the expense of the event itself.

Summer Games Done Quick 2025 will be held from July 6-13 at the Hilton Minneapolis Downtown in Minnesota, and broadcast live on the GDQ Twitch channel, then archived run by run on the GDQ YouTube page.
