Stranger Things Season 4 Will Be Ridiculously Long
This morning, Netflix put the first eight minutes of Stranger Things Season 4 on their YouTube channel. That’s right — one week ahead of their official release, you can see these eight minutes for free. How can they afford to do that (especially now)? Well, they have a lot more where that came from.
Netflix has revealed exactly WHERE the season will be split in half and what length each episode will be. The season is nine episodes long, but that number is an illusion. The individual episodes are so lengthy we would go so far as to call this a fifteen-episode season. Episodes one through five run an average of 75 minutes. Episode seven goes on for an hour and a half. But it’s the season finale that breaks the record, dragging on for TWO AND A HALF HOURS. With breaks as easy as pushing a button, few but the die-hard will be watching them whole.
This knowledge makes the split point make a bit more sense…seven episodes are coming May 27, and just two more are arriving July 1. But those two measure up enough to be a season on their own. Now we get where the “$30 million an episode” price tag came from. Netflix paid for nine movies.
We hope the length of these episodes is justified, and not another case of a director becoming so important to a studio that no one can tell them to cut anything. Stranger Things Season 4 will be a lot to bite off, but you can get the first eight minutes out of the way now.

I wish Netflix renews partnership with Dead by Daylight, so I can buy more Steve and Nancy Cosmetics and this Villain will become a killer.
