It’s the day you thought would never come…the day Netflix finally says “here’s when you’re getting Stranger Things‘ final season.” But if you think Stranger Things 5 is going to appear entirely within one day, you haven’t been paying attention. Nearly every single one of the streamer’s hits has been released in pieces lately, and there was no way their biggest cultural phenomenon was going to escape the same treatment.
The good news is that this finale won’t be nearly as prolonged as Cobra Kai’s was. Part 1 will arrive on Netflix this Thanksgiving. Part 2 will appear on Christmas Day. And one week later, the grand finale will make its appearance on New Years Day 2026. The whole thing in a little over a month….how nice of them.
In case it’s been a long time since you’ve seen Stranger Things and your first thought upon seeing this trailer is “wow, they were able to disguise these actors’ ages really well!”…almost every shot in here is from a previous season. Apparently post-production is still taking a while. The one actual clip from Season 5 appears at the end, where a bunch of clueless troopers stare at the glowing, vibrating floor tiles underneath them and have ho idea their pea-shooters are no match for what’s about to emerge. Will Byers, who is there for some reason, does however…he knows better than anyone. So when he hollers “RRRRRUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNNNNNN”…you know he truly means it.
Do they run? You’ll have to wait six entire months to find out. Stranger Things 5 debuts on Netflix this Thanksgiving.
