State of Decay Has Sold Over 2 Million Copies

Undead Labs has announced that State of Decay has sold over 2 million copies on the Xbox 360 and PC. The 2 million copies refers to the original State of Decay on Steam and Xbox Live Arcade, and doesn’t include DLC.

“Two million copies of the original State of Decay have been sold, between Steam and XBLA. We’re not even talking about DLC, here,” said community manager Sanya Weathers.

The game hit the 550,000 sales mark in June 2013 and by October that year had sold over a million copies.

“There just aren’t the right words to tell you how much this means to us. No marketing, no advertising, just you playing and streaming and spreading the word. You made this happen, and if we could individually thank each person who hit that download button, we would. Your enthusiasm and support have been everything.”

State of Decay will also be coming to the Xbox One. In late August, Undead Labs announced State of Decay: Year-One Survival Edition. The port will include the full State of Decay original game – enhanced so that it now runs in 1080p – with both the Lifeline and Breakdown DLC. It is expected to launch in Spring 2015.

We’ll have more on the port when an official release date is announced.
