Slasher Feature Don’t Look Premieres In LA Next Month
Wild Eye Releasing has announced they’ve landed distribution rights to the upcoming slasher film Don’t Look. The movie is centered around “five New York City Millennials who escape the big city for a rustic Thanksgiving weekend in the country,” expecting the experience to be peaceful — and it would have been, if not for the crazed murderer running around.
Right now that’s all we know about the plot, but we’re also getting some hints this will be the rare slasher where the would-be victims fight back, and not just the “Final Girl.” “It was important for me to create work that shows the female characters as they are in real life – none of us are waiting to be saved by some Prince Charming,” says Luciana Faulhaber, director and co-producer of Don’t Look. She also has a role in front of the camera.
“I am thankful to Wild Eye Releasing for believing in ‘Don’t Look’, and introducing our work to audiences across the globe through traditional and digital platforms,” adds co-producer Javier Gomez. “We are very proud to become part of the WER family and we look forward to working with the company in the rolling out the plan to bring ‘Don’t Look’ directly to audiences.”
The indie thriller is set to premiere on the big screen next month at North Hollywood CineFest, followed by the Latin American premiere at the Rock Horror Film Festival in Rio de Janeiro. After that comes the VOD release, scheduled for late 2018. Wild Eye will provide more info later.
