Can you play Skyrim on anything that’s been released in the last ten years? You sure can, and not only that, but even some things that have existed for THOUSANDS of years, like tables (or Skyrim itself).
Skyrim: The Adventure Game is a tabletop co-op for one to four players that takes place within the world of the video game. Each player picks their character and guides them through the world using included miniatures of races like Khajiit, Nord, or High Elf. Together you’ll explore locales like forgotten mines, Draugr-infested tombs, or ancient Dwemer cities and confront Dragons, Daedra, Trolls and other hostiles as you complete the quests assigned to you.
The tabletop Skyim game is described as highly flexible, with the ability to play any chapter in the book as a one-off adventure. It’ll even let you drop the character you were playing as and choose someone else at any time. Creator Modiphus Entertainment claims that, like the video game, players should be able to get hundreds of hours out of it.
Skyrim: The Adventure Game was crowdfunded on Gamefound last year, but if you missed that campaign, it’s no problem — you should be able to waltz into any hobby shop this week and pick it up. Or, if they don’t have it in stock, multiple outlets online will sell you one.
