Fantasy Turn-Based Tactics Game Skygard Arena 1.0 Out on Steam

With a customizable cast, a campaign with modular AI, and a PvP mode, this game has a lot to give! Check out the 1.0 release of this tactical turn-based fantasy game, Skygard Arena!

Developed by Gamelli Games, Skygard Arena is a strategy game that makes use of a turn-based system of combat. Taking place on the world of Skygard, five factions vie for power, competing in a competition to avoid war. You control a group of characters from these factions to fight your foes, and claim victory for your factions survival.

The squad you command is made up of a wide cast of champions, hailing from different parts of the world of Skygard. Each character has their own skills, while also having the choice of two distinct gameplay styles to fit your composition. Whether you prefer all-out offense or impenetrable defense, you will have thousands of different team compositions to choose from.

In terms of the core gameplay, the game uses a system similar to Mario + Rabbids, being grid and turn-based. Each character takes their turns moving along a map in a grid, positioning and performing actions. You can view the turn order at any time, meaning that you can more easily plan ahead for future movements.

When it comes to the modes in the game, you can choose between a single player campaign or some PvP gameplay. The campaign has a variety of missions to choose from, with a difficulty system that changes the quality of the AI’s moves. PvP has you put up against another player and their squad of three to capture objectives, with both ranked and casual modes for any type of player.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THIS TURN-BASED STRATEGY GAME

  • Full single-player campaign with 13 handcrafted missions and 26 secondary quests, ranging from large-scale battles, skirmishes to capture objectives, infiltration missions, base-defense challenges and boss fights.
  • Multiplayer Arena mode with 1v1 PvP matches lasting 20 minutes on average. Play Ranked mode to climb the global leaderboard or enjoy Casual matches with friends.
  • A roster of 10 unique Champions, each coming with 2 different Personas (a specific gameplay style with its own set of spells and its own skin).
  • 80 Relics that grant game-changing passive effects and reinforce synergies between Champions.
  • Over 500,000 different team compositions.
  • A modular AI inspired by chess engines like Stockfish. With a choice between 4 difficulty levels. These difficulty levels do not change the number of enemies nor their stats. They only change the quality of the moves played by the AI!
  • Epic 90-minute soundtrack composed by Raphael Joffres (Audio Lead on Clair Obscur: Expedition 33).

Skygard Arena can be found on Steam, alongside a purchasable soundtrack. You can discuss Skygard Arena on the PopGeeks Video Game Forum!

I enjoy turn-based strategy games, and Skygard Arena brings a lot of variety. I like the grid-based movement system because it makes positioning and planning feel crucial. The ability to view the turn order is helpful, especially in tough missions where one wrong move can cost the game. I also appreciate the modular AI because it adapts to different difficulty levels without just giving enemies bigger numbers. The PvP is fun, but I think the campaign shows the most creativity with different mission types. I am still exploring the relics, but they seem like they can drastically change strategies, which makes me want to try new team compositions. The game feels balanced and rewarding.

I am impressed by how Skygard Arena balances strategy and accessibility. The grid and turn-based system is easy to understand, yet the choices I make have a real impact. Modular AI makes each mission challenging in a smart way, rather than relying on random difficulty spikes. I also like that the game lets me pick three champions for my squad, which keeps matches manageable while still offering strategic depth. The PvP mode is competitive but fair, and I enjoy trying to climb the leaderboard. The variety of mission types keeps me interested, and I feel like there is always a new tactic to try. I appreciate that the game is well-polished and available on Steam for easy access.

Skygard Arena is a game that rewards patience and careful planning. I notice small details in movement and turn order that can completely change the outcome of a battle. The AI is clever, and the difficulty levels feel fair instead of artificial. I enjoy testing different champions and personas to see how they interact with relics and terrain. Some missions, especially base defense and infiltration, challenge me in ways I have not experienced in other games. PvP is interesting, but I prefer the campaign because it allows me to explore different strategies without being rushed. The game feels thoughtfully designed and balanced for both new and experienced players.

In addition to computer games, I dive into the world of PayID pokies for a bit of thrill and variety. It's like mixing up your gaming portfolio, you know? While I've always loved the intricate narratives and challenges that computer games offer, there's something refreshingly straightforward about kicking back with some pokies using PayID. No fussing around with too many options - just seamless play that's only a click away. Winning at pay id pokies australia https://thepokies17.live/ in real time gives you the same adrenaline rush as opening loot boxes, but with the potential for a payout! Plus, the integration with PayID makes my transactions smoother than ever - which is a huge win because who has time for clunky payment processes these days? It's a perfect balance: strategic gameplay sessions paired with a few laid-back rounds on the pokies when I'm feeling lucky or just want to unwind for a bit.

I’ve always loved turn-based strategy games like this they really test your patience and planning skills. Skygard Arena looks like something that could eat up hours of my life (in a good way). The tactical depth reminds me of how I feel playing roulette sometimes thinking I’ve got the perfect strategy, then realizing luck still plays its part. Speaking of that, I’ve been messing around with Bitcoin roulette on endorphina provider lately kinda fun to mix brainy games with a bit of chance once in a while.
