Last night the Season One finale of the brawler anime Wind Breaker aired in Japan, and was simulcast in the US via Crunchyroll. Moments later, it was confirmed that the show has done well enough to secure a second season, which is now in production.
Wind Breaker (get your immature giggles about the name out now….done? Okay, good, let’s continue) takes place at Furin High School, more known for its constant fights than any actual learning. Some of its students even formed a group, Bofurin, that now prowls around policing the town. Haruka Sakura is a first-year student who just moved here from out of town, and now has only one goal: becoming the leader through battling his way to the top.
Wind Breaker is produced by CloverWorks (SPY x FAMILY; Black Butler: Public School Arc; BOCCHI THE ROCK!) and directed by Toshifumi Akai (Fate/Grand Order -Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia-) with series composition and screenplays written by Hiroshi Seko (Attack on Titan Final Season; Chainsaw Man; JUJUTSU KAISEN). The second season is expected to star the same Japanese voice cast:
-
Yuma Uchida as Haruka Sakura
-
Shoya Chiba as Akihiko Nirei
-
Koki Uchiyama as Kyotaro Sugishita
-
Nobunaga Shimazaki as Hayato Suo
