Resident Evil 7: New Gamescom Trailer & Screens
During Gamescom in Cologne, Germany this week, Capcom released a new gameplay trailer for Resident Evil 7, along with some new screenshots. You can check out the new material below. Click on the thumbnails in the gallery to see the full-size images.
The new video offers a deeper look into the gameplay. According to Capcom, the footage in the gameplay trailer is taken from the main game, but it’s also been slightly adjusted in order to avoid story spoilers for consumers. The trailer introduces gamers to Marguerite Baker and another new mysterious female character.
Resident Evil 7 is set in a plantation house in Dulvey, Louisiana. The Baker family, including Jack and Marguerite, were residents but no one has heard for them in quite some time. It’s an interesting, new setting for the Resident Evil series. It will be interesting to see how this ties into the main series, if at all. This almost seems like its own standalone story.
Resident Evil 7 is due out on January 24, 2017. The game will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC. The full gameplay experience will also be available via the included PlayStation VR mode. The game is also on display at Gamescom this week at the Sony booth.
