Rescued by Ruby -One of these two underdogs is an actual Dog
Rescued by Ruby stars Grant Gustin as Dan, a State Trooper who aspires to join one of the most elite K-9 Units. For the Last Decade, Gustin has been playing The Flash on TV. He even continues to play despite an upcoming film with a different action playing Barry Allen. The 8th Season of The Flash might be the series finale, so he is now transitioning to movies. It will be weird seeing him playing another role, but for sure, it is a relief for him to play another character and star in a movie. It is part of the process of an actor’s growth.

Most K-9 dogs used by the government are expensive dog breeds like German Shepherds, Belgian Malinois, Labrador Retrievers, and Bloodhounds. Dan cannot afford to buy a costly pedigree dog to train so he can become a part of that Elite K-9 Unit. He also has some ads against him, like ADHD, which makes them question his focus, and the State cannot afford to buy a new Dog. Dan will settle for the Rescue Shelter dog, Ruby. She is a feisty girl who was let go of her owner to an animal shelter because she is a handful to control. Ruby is all grown up, and It’s like a 25-year-old woman started training to be a Ballerina. Most K-9 Dogs got their training as Puppies.
This film is true to the life story of State Trooper Daniel O’Neil and his Dog Ruby. She is the 2018 Hero Dog Awards winner for the Search & Rescue Hero Dog Category. No one believed in Ruby. Whenever she was adopted, she always got returned to the shelter. All of that will change when she meets Dan. Ruby is way too unmanageable as a house dog, but she thrives as a rescue dog. Not only does she find her home, but she also finds her purpose.

I am traumatized by Dog movies because of most of them ends with the Dog dying. Is Ruby still alive?

The plot is interesting and even more so because it’s based on real life events. Underdog stories sell well. Can’t wait to see how Gustin delivers on this one and it’s nice to see him launching out into movies. That’s how they become great, being versatile enough for various roles. You go Gus!

I hope more people will adopt Stray dogs after watching this movie. Millions of dogs are still needing homes but people rather shop for pets.

I’ve been watching Gustin as The Flash for so long that seeing him in another role is strange. He undoubtedly wishes to demonstrate his range as an actor. He requires this, though, because his show is nearing the end of its run, and he needs to switch to movies, which pay better and have a more flexible schedule.
