Overwatch Open Beta Extended for a Day
Overwatch hasn’t even been officially released yet, but it appears the online, multiplayer first-person shooter is already very successful and building a significant fanbase. It looks like the Overwatch Open Beta will last a little longer than originally expected. Blizzard Entertainment has officially announced that the Overwatch Open Beta will continue for an extra day. The beta was originally supposed to end today, but now it will through tomorrow until 10:00 a.m. PDT.
The beta is currently available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC. Blizzard will take the feedback from the beta in order to make improvements to the overall gameplay experience. In addition, Blizzard claims that millions of players have sampled the open beta, so the extension is a thank you of sorts to the Blizzard and Overwatch community.
So gamers will have until tomorrow to play as much of the online multiplayer FPS as they can possibly fit into the aforementioned time-frame. The open beta version actually contains all of the content that will be available for the main game at launch. The actual game finally arrives on May 24. It will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox one and Windows PC. It definitely appears that Blizzard has another smash and potential franchise on their hands.
