With more than 10 million players across all platforms, Overwatch has become a huge success in its short lifespan. That popularity is now crossing over into other mediums as Blizzard has revealed that a graphic novel based on the game is being developed.
According to a report by IGN, the publisher has signed an exclusive deal with Dark Horse to release the Overwatch comic series in physical form in addition to creating their own 100-page graphic novel. It is set to be available from April 2017, though an exact release date has not yet been given. This will be followed in the summer of the same year with a hardcover book called The Art of Overwatch.
Although Dark Horse and Blizzard are not giving away much detail about the comic series or the graphic novel, they have revealed that they will expand on the story of the original strike team, giving some backstory and additional details that were purposely left blank in the game.
