Oni Press May 2026 Solicitations: Rick and Morty’s Final Bow and 15 More

Oni Press’s May 2026 solicitations are defined by endings. After more than a decade in comics, the publisher’s Rick and Morty run reaches its conclusion with two releases: The End #6, completing Daniel Kibblesmith and Jarrett Williams’s six-issue finale series, and Forever #0, a standalone special reuniting Kibblesmith with franchise veteran Troy Little. Together, these books close one of Oni’s longest-running licensed partnerships. But endings are only half the picture. Across 16 titles from Oni Press, May also delivers an origin story for EC’s horror host, a new creator-owned launch, and a fresh jumping-on point for Adventure Time, all while several series wrestle with characters forced to confront what they’ve done and who they’ve become.

Rick and Morty’s Final Chapter

The End #6 brings the limited series to its “catastrophic, mind-bending close” with the full ensemble in play. Forever #0 frames itself as a coda, following Rick trapped in forced cosmic observation while Morty faces a fate of his own. Troy Little’s wraparound foil cover and oversized format make this feel like a special release you’ll actually want to display. For readers who followed the comic from its April 2015 debut, May 2026 is the definitive endpoint.

Reckoning and Redemption

A thread runs through several of May’s titles: characters facing judgment for their pasts. Spirit of the Shadows #5 delivers that premise most directly, as Erik Leroux stands before a final verdict of redemption or damnation. The Autumn Kingdom: The Wraithbound Queen #4 closes with sisters confronting a millennia-old fae debt paid in human blood, and the question of whether they can simply walk away from what they’ve witnessed. Dead Teenager #3 pushes its time-loop premise to a crossroads, with a figure from the past potentially holding the key to breaking the cycle. Even Rick and Morty Forever frames its finale as cosmic punishment: Rick forced to witness everything he’s caused, powerless to intervene.

Origins and New Voices

EC Catacomb of Torment #11 inverts the month’s backward-looking pattern by building forward. Dustin Weaver writes and illustrates an origin story for the Tormentor, EC’s horror host, giving the character her first dedicated spotlight issue. It’s the most significant single-issue investment in the EC revival’s mythology to date. Cruel Universe 2 #10 continues the sci-fi anthology with contributions from Greg Pak, Liam Johnson, and Felipe Cunha.

Destination Kill #1, the month’s lone new launch, brings British dystopian sci-fi to Oni’s line. Joe Palmer writes, illustrates, and hand-letters this four-issue series set in 2125 London, where a corporate megalopolis and a worker uprising collide. Palmer’s solo creative control gives the book a distinct voice among Oni’s more collaborative titles.

Licensed Worlds and Collected Histories

Murder Drones expands in two directions: the ongoing series reaches issue #4, and a standalone Home Special adapts the show’s origin episode with guest artist Soo Lee. Adventure Time #13 begins a fresh arc centered on Magic Man, offering a clean entry point for new readers.

Estuary: A Ghost Story #2 deepens Tim Daniel, D.B. Andry, and Maan House’s California mission haunting, layering personal history into its Pacific coast setting as Maris uncovers her own connections to the mission.

Four collected editions anchor the month’s back catalog. The Skullkickers Compact Attack Edition packages Jim Zub and Edwin Huang’s entire 34-issue run in a single slipcase. Hana and Taru SC presents an ecological fantasy from Léo Schilling and Motteux. Two European imports arrive in hardcover: The Beast Vol. 1, Zidrou and Frank Pe’s story of a boy and an exotic animal in 1950s Belgium, and The Collected Toppi Vol. 12, continuing the restoration of Sergio Toppi’s works with three never-before-translated tales. The Beast carries its own echo of the month’s themes: a child ostracized for his father’s wartime allegiance, unable to escape the past’s reach.
