The wait for One-Punch Man to join the Adult Swim Toonami lineup will be over soon than you think. Viz Media has confirmed that the popular anime series will join the Adult Swim Toonami block on July 16. The show was previously simulcast online, but now it will be making its US broadcast TV debut with a new English-language dub.
At the 2016 Anime Expo, it was confirmed that the show would be joining Cartoon Network on Toonami. However, the actual air date was not yet confirmed, that is until now.
New episodes of the show will be premiering every Saturday on Adult Swim. The English version stars Max Mittelman in the role of Saitama, Zach Aguilar as Genos, Robbie Daymond as Mumen Rider, and Erik Kimerer as Speed-o’-Sound Sonic. The story follows a young man named Saitama who has achieved his dream of becoming a superhero after three years of intense training. However, he’s become so powerful that he defeats all his opponents in just one punch. His passion for being a hero has been lost, so how long can he keep going?
The anime is based on a digital webcomic originally created by the author One. It was later adapted as a manga series illustrated by Yusuke Murata. So see more of the show and Saitama in action, you can check out the official trailer for the anime series in the player below.
