Nintendo Online Has Release Date
Nintendo’s Online Service has launch date and new
details.
It was announced earlier this year that Nintendo would be offering a paid service and there was little info until now. We will be seeing this new service in September of 2018 and will be getting some new stuff alongside online play. Features that have been announced are being able to save via The Cloud. Extra features on the already existing mobile app. Special offers and access to twenty NES games with online play with more to come.
While there are more games on the way for this service, the announced games thus far include Super Mario Bros one and three, Mario Bros, Dr. Mario, Donkey Kong, Legend of Zelda, Balloon Fight, Ice Climbers, Tennis, and Soccer.
The plans are one month for 3.99 USD, three months for 7.99 USD, and twelve months for 19.99 USD. There is also a family plan of 34.99 USD for twelve months. This will allow up to seven profiles to access the online services of one user. Compared to Microsoft’s and Sony’s online services, while bare bones, is competitive in pricing.
Subscription services for online play is nothing new, however with Nintendo’s decision to go into the paid service arena it lead to concern by fans who always saw them as the last safe haven for free online play with how things will change and how much it would be. Though worries were quickly calmed, others still weren’t happy.
Online play is still free as of now. However come September once the service is released you will have to pay to play online.
