On the heels of NBA Jam: On Fire Edition releasing on XBLA and PSN, a new announcement is about to make some NFL fans very happy.
NFL Blitz will return this January in the form of a downloadable title developed by the EA Tiburon team responsible for Madden.
Tim Kitzrow will come over from NBA Jam to do the commentary work. The new iteration of Blitz will introduce a new game mode called Blitz Gauntlet. It will include special character teams like hot dogs and zombies. Features include Big Head mode, a full NFL license, and full roster customization.

NFL Blitz will be available January 3rd, 2012 on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade.
