Mortal Kombat X Official Trailer Released
The Mortal Kombat franchise is the grand daddy of viscera filled video games. the impetus for the formation of the ESRB, and the official inheritor of its tenth sequel! (Now actually official, more on that here.)
More to the point the tenth entry into the long running franchise of kombative violence is officially in the works now that NetherRealm Studios has released an official trailer showcasing another round of violent combat between the series’ rivals Sub-Zero and Scorpion. The trailer, which you can watch below, features an an original track by Wiz Khalifa titled “Can’t Be Stopped” and appears to demonstrate a mix of pre-rendered animation and in-game fighting. The trailer hinted toward two main things, the return of X-Ray moves, and weapon style attacks which were both features introduced in previous games.
While I can’t really say for certain that the trailer actually uses the in-game engine, the some of the camera angles, movements and attacking motions in the trailer may indicate that the newest MK game makes good use of current gen graphics. All anyone really knows at this point is that the game will be featured at E3 next week and that we can expect a release of the new game sometime in 2015.
