Konami Digital Entertainment officially announced today that the new Cloaked in Silence DLC campaign for Metal Gear Online will now launch on March 15. The expansion pack for the game was previously announced, but the publisher has now confirmed Tuesday, March 15 as the launch date.
The expansion features three maps for Metal Gear Online, the multiplayer component for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. In addition, players will now be able to play as Quiet for Metal Gear Online. The three new maps for the expansion include Coral Complex, Rust Palace and Azure Mountain.
Another new gameplay mode has been detailed for the DLC campaign called SURVIVAL. This mode will not debut until April 7. For SURVIVAL, players compete for the highest win streak to achieve greater rewards. The new maps will be available to try out for free in SURVIVAL matches with a limit of 10 attempts per week (the number of free available attempts will be reset every Tuesday during the scheduled maintenance). Players who purchase the Cloaked in Silence DLC will have unlimited access to SURVIVAL mode and the new maps later on.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, including Metal Gear Online, are available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows PC.
