Mass Effect Andromeda Release Delayed to 2017

It looks like Mass Effect Andromeda can no longer be expected for a release this year. A NeoGAF user brought attention to Electronic Arts‘ recent presentation at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media and Telecom Conference. During the conference, EA’s CFA said Mass Effect Andromeda is a Q4 game which reportedly puts the game in the calendar year of 2017.

This appears to be the first verbal confirmation that the game has likely been pushed back to 2017. BioWare and EA had previously announced the game would receive a holiday 2016 release, but that no longer appears to be the case. In case you don’t remember, check out the description for the official announcement trailer release for Mass Effect Andromeda here.

A recording of the conference was posted online and is available at this link. Here’s a transcript of the presentation that mentions Mass Effect:

“We’ve got a great year ahead… we’ve got our Battlefield first-person shooter game coming in the third quarter, and our third-party title that Respawn, our partner, built, it’s called TItanfall, it’s the second title that they brought into that brand. Both of those are first-person shooters and will be targeted around the fast, action-driven shooter market, as well as the strategy-driven market in that quarter… We have our Mirror’s Edge runner game this first quarter, and then we have Mass Effect, which is a sci-fi action game, in our fourth quarter. So big year ahead and we’re pretty excited.”

Mass Effect Andromeda is being developed for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC.
