MASHLE: Magic and Muscles Coming This April
There’s a Japanese property called MUSCLE that was introduced to America through a series of small, pink figurines. MUSCLE is resurrected from time to time, but we have no idea if this is one of those times. What we do know is that MASHLE does have a lot to do with muscles.
MASHLE takes place in a world of magic where everyone knows how to use it. Magic is so commonplace that most residents don’t even think about it. Everyone knows magic except ONE person…that boy who lives in the forest whom no one talks to.
No one knows that Mash Burnedead (wow, amazing name) lacks the ability to do magic. But if his plan works out, that won’t matter. Mash has been exercising and lifting nearly every hour of every day, building his muscles to the point where he can stand up against magical forces and potentially win. Now he’s enrolled himself in the country’s most elite magic school, where he has his sights set on earning the institution’s most prestigious title, “Divine Visionary” — without casting a single spell. The title is a portmanteau of “Magic” and “Muscle,” though it also relates to the main character’s name.
Crunchyroll has the global distribution rights to MASHLE and will begin making it available in over 200 countries after it debuts in Japan. Just the sub version will be available at the start, but it’s a big enough deal to have THREE trailers promoting it. MASHLE begins this April.
