In “Man to Man”, Ghost Agent K is an international man of mystery. In other words, he’s a spy and his assignments take him all over the world. Kim Sul-woo is a skilled undercover agent known as Ghost Agent K. Very few people who wrok in intelligence and espionage know what he looks like or who he is. This particular assigment is not his usual. He has to work as a bodyguard for Yeo Woon-gwang, a celebrity. He is completely in charge of security.

Cha Do-Ha works as the manager for Yeo Woon-Gwang and watched everything and everyone around him. When she initally crosses paths with Kim Sul-Woo, she mistakes him for being a stalker, a pickpocket, a misguided fan … everything except a bodyguard responsible for maintaining the safety and security of her boss.

The relationship between Sul-Woo and Woon-gwang gets off to a rocky start. Sul-Woo’s character is very serious and stoic and he keeps his distance so that his relationship stays professional. But as they spend time together their relationship evolves into a bromance.

After the misunderstanding was cleared up, the relationship with Do-Ha also evolved. Sul-Woo knows how dangerous his real job as an agent is so he tried not to get close to her. She could get hurt if she ended up being in the wrong place at the wrong time. But as they spend time together their relationship evolves into a romance.

Meanwhile, even though he is a bodyguard, he is still an undercover agent and the hunt for Ghost Agent K is being conducted by both friend and foe in the world of spies. Agent K is in possession of OR knows where to find three (3) wooden carvings which are articles of great importance. The first wooden carving is a small wooden figurine of a tiger. It holds a secret microfilm containing sensitive information that could potentially incriminate powerful individuals. The second wooden carving is similar in appearance to the first but its contents hold a different secret. The third wooden carving is shrouded in even more mystery and holds the most significant secrets of all.

People are willing to do almost anything to possession of the mysterious wooden carvings. Sul-Woo finds himself deep in a perilous web of corruption and betrayal all because of these carvings. Working as an agent, danger was accepted as part of the job. But Sul-Woo always avoided personal relationships so as not to endanger the people he cared about. Now that he has become close to both Woon-gwang and Do-Ha, he must be concerned and careful to make sure they don’t get hurt. His extremely complicated job now has extra extreme complications.

I can’t understand the lower ratings by IMDb and My Drama List. I liked all of the main characters and the storyline kept me going from start to finish. You could say this Kdrama series is a gem, but it’s not a hidden gem. Even though it’s 2024, lots of viewers are searching for it because it appeared on the Viki streaming platform under the grouping for TV series and movies “Climbing the Charts”. I watched “Man to Man” when it was first released. So when it appeared in the recommendations, I started re-watching and remembered why I enjoyed it the first time. It’s that good!
