Love Hurts : This Real State Agent was secretly a former assasin

Love Hurts marks the directorial debut of stuntman Jonathan Eusebio, previously the assistant director on notable films such as 300, Black Panther, and John Wick. Now, he’s stepping into the spotlight, writing and directing his own film, Love Hurts. The lead actor is Ke Huy Quan, who finally got his big break after receiving much-deserved recognition at the Oscars and Golden Globes. This former child star, known for his roles as Short Round in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and Data in The Goonies, nearly gave up on acting due to the lack of opportunities and constant rejections at auditions. He eventually shifted to working behind the scenes as a choreographer.

Hollywood’s lack of inclusivity for Asian male actors at the time contributed to his struggle. However, Ke Huy Quan was inspired to return to acting during the “Asian August” of 2018, when films like Searching and Crazy Rich Asians dominated the box office with Asian leads. He mentioned during The Goonies reunion that this moment reignited his passion for being in front of the camera.

Ke Huy Quan’s career made a triumphant comeback with Everything, Everywhere, All at Once, directed by The Daniels. That film earned him numerous acting awards, solidifying his place in Hollywood once again. When he won the Best Supporting Actor Oscar, Ariana DeBose, who read his name, was moved to tears. Now, the two of them star together in Love Hurts.

The fight choreography in Love Hurts is pure eye candy! With a seasoned fight choreographer like Ke Huy Quan as the star, every movement flows effortlessly, like a hot knife through butter. The action scenes remind me of the slick, intense fights from Bullet Train, Daredevil, Oldboy, and those classic Jackie Chan films from his prime. Joining Ke Huy Quan and Ariana DeBose in the cast are Daniel Wu, football star Marshawn Lynch, America’s Next Top Model alum Lio Tipton, Mustafa Shakir, Cam Gigandet, Sean Astin, and André Eriksen.

Never stopped believing in Short Round! So happy to see Ke Huy Quan getting these leading roles. The John Wick comparisons are intriguing, especially with that fight choreographer on board. Plus, Ariana DeBose? This could be a sleeper hit. Definitely keeping my eye on it. It's so refreshing to see Ke Huy Quan finally stepping into the lead role. For too long, he was typecast as the sidekick, but now he's proving that he's a major star in his own right. Everything Everywhere All at Once was a game-changer for him, and it's great to see him continue to shine. I can't wait to see what he does next!

Another John Wick wannabe? Hollywood's originality is drying up faster than a desert well. But hey, if the action's good, I might give it a shot. Quan was great in Everything Everywhere All at Once, and DeBose is always a solid pick. Just hoping they don't overdo the clichés.

Ooh, love a good redemption story! Glad Ke Huy Quan is finally getting his due after all those years behind the scenes. The whole "secret past" realtor thing sounds intriguing. Might be a fun date night movie with my girlfriend, some action with a bit of romance? Sold!

Dude, the fight scenes in the trailer looked insane! Like, video game level choreography. Quan totally owned those moves. John Wick vibes for sure, but with a more, I dunno, lighthearted feel? Can't wait to see how they pull it off. Definitely gonna be checking this out with my squad.

Hold on, Marshawn Lynch is in this? Beast Mode on the big screen? Now that's something I gotta see! Plus, Quan kicking butt after that awesome performance in Everything Everywhere All at Once? This movie's got a great mix. Might have to drag my wife to the theaters for this one.

I'm thrilled to see Ke Huy Quan cementing himself as a top-tier action star! His story of resilience and comeback is so inspiring, especially for those of us who grew up watching him in The Goonies and Indiana Jones. I’m really excited to see how he transitions his success from Everything Everywhere All at Once into a project like Love Hurts, especially since Jonathan Eusebio has such a stellar background in fight choreography. The comparison to John Wick is what hooked me—if the action scenes in Love Hurts are anywhere close to that level, we’re in for a treat. Eusebio’s experience with films like Deadpool 2 and John Wick has me confident that the action will be spectacular, and I think Quan will bring his own unique touch. It’s also amazing that Ariana DeBose, another Oscar winner, is joining him. The casting feels perfect.

Awesome to see Ke Huy Quan back in the spotlight! My kids grew up watching The Goonies and Indiana Jones, so it's great to see him getting these leading roles. The action might be a bit much for them, but maybe a fun family movie night for my husband and me. February release sounds perfect, something to look forward to after the holidays.

This movie is exactly what I’ve been waiting for! I love how Love Hurts is being compared to John Wick, and with Jonathan Eusebio’s experience in the action genre, I think it’s going to deliver some of the best fight scenes we’ve seen in years. Ke Huy Quan is the perfect actor to take on this role, especially after his incredible performance in Everything Everywhere All at Once.

Ke Huy Quan’s return to Hollywood has been one of the most heartwarming stories in recent years. I never thought I’d see him on the big screen again after his iconic roles as a kid in The Goonies and Indiana Jones. The fact that he's now headlining action films like Love Hurts after such a long hiatus is incredible. It’s inspiring to see someone who was on the sidelines for so long finally getting the recognition he deserves. I can’t wait to see how he channels that passion into this new role. The trailer looks fantastic, and knowing that Eusebio worked on John Wick only heightens my anticipation. Ke’s career resurgence feels well-earned, and I’m here for it.
